When sending out a Email Is the IP address that I am sending it from based from my PC, My connection or my loc?
If the IP address on your computer is in the ranges 10.x.x.x, 172.16.x.x, or 192.168.x.x, then your IP is in a private address space. The IP address that you are recorded as sending it from is the one that is igned to the modem that connects to the internet, if you are using a cable, dsl, or dialup connection. The header on the packet will provide the information that NAT (network address translation) uses to identify and route information to your particular computer. If the IP address of your computer is outside of these ranges, then your IP is unique on the internet and is instantly identifiable as belonging to your PC. Most IP addresses on the Internet are, while not necessarily igned by location, able to be tied to a specific geographic area.
