Having trouble with windows?

I am receiving popups saying that my Windows X.P. Profesional is either a copy or counterfeit.It is not I have the registrarion can anyone outhere sort this prob out for me. If you answer try and keep it simple as I am a novice at this computer lark. Gratzias P.S it is stoping my down loading AVG free
