I am engaged to a person for almost two years and i cannot made my mind about him because he is so ambivalent?

sometimes he is affectionate, loving and generous and sometimes i feel he is very cheap and vindictive. sometimes i feel that he saw me very beautiful and say geniune compliments about my appearance and othertimes i feel like he is not seeing me attractive. what should i do because i am realy hesitant.
