Is it teasing or flirting?

So there's this guy that I like, we have the same group of friends and we're always making snide little jokes towards each other. Sometimes, when he sees me in the hall he'll jokingly hit me or i'll hit him. Sometimes in cl, he'll smile at me or I'll catch him looking in my direction. But I don't know if he's joking or flirting or if i'm just reading into things. Can someone help me??
