Do you think it should be legal or illegal to own chimps as pets?
I just finished watching a video on YouTube with Charla Nash. Earlier this year, she survived a savage attack from her friend's chimpanzee. Sandy Herald gave her chimp, Travis, several anti-depressants. For some reason, these pharmaceuticals caused him to snap and maul Nash. During the onslaught Travis managed to chew her face and hands off. She barely survived the attack. Meanwhile, her family is suing Sandy Herald for $50 million. After Charla Nash unveiled herself for the first time, the damage she revealed was unsettling. Yes, chimps have reasoning skills like humans. I was an anthropology minor, and I am aware that human and chimp DNA are 98 percent alike. All things considered, they are still wild animals. Keep in mind, Pitbulls and Rottweilers are forbidden by some municipal ordinances. Dogs are loyal animals, yet chimpanzees are still wild. Do you think it should be legal or illegal to own a chimpanzee as a pet?
